Dysnomia was re-founded in January of 2014 by the members of an old project called Dark Eternity, which was established in 2007 by Rodrigo Blas and Jorge Fernandez (current guitar players) in their hometown Vigo. After a few lineup changes, a demo, an EP called "Selenia" (launched through Suspiria Records) and several tours, the band switched their name to Dysnomia. A different music style came along to the name change, so the band decided to record 10 tracks and release them within a brand new self-titled album, in order to embody the new approach to their music. The album was recorded at Ultrasound Studios (Portugal) and produced by Pedro Mendes and Daniel Cardoso (only the drum session), and it was mixed and mastered by Ettore Rigotti (Italy). That very year, the band joined the Blood Fire Death agency roster, and signed with Suspiria Recods to release their new album in the fall of 2014.
The band is formed in spring 2007 by Tomasz „Longo” Ciecielong and Paweł ”Kwiatek” Kwiatkowski, to be soon joined by Tomasz „Kieł” Lato. During the first years of existence by the name of „SETH” it is impossible for the group to gig regularly due to constant personal changes. In spite of that, a three song promo is recorded in 2008 with Cezar (Christ Agony) as a vocalist. Two more songs are recorded in 2010 with a new drummer Tomasz „Długi” Krawczyk having joined the band not long before. In 2011 all the instrumental tracks for a debut LP are recorded, unluckily unexpected changes in the band's lineup make it impossible to finish the album and challenge Longo, Kieł and Dlugi with forming it almost from the scratch. Sadly, having tried to work with many basists and vocalists without success it's not until 2014 that they finally manage to create a stable lineup when Maksymina „Maxi” Kuzianik takes care of the vocals and Konrad „Tomek” Lisicki (Londyn) becomes the basist. These years of experience and constant challenges influence greatly the group's members and their music itself which is expressed by serious changes in the sound and the songs' structure. To emphesise the „new approach” a new, yet familiar name of „SETHEIST” is given to the band. All these changes result in making the debut EP „The Flash of Creation” which is released in september 2014. The future seems promising as the EP is to be promoted during a series of gigs around Poland and hopefully the end of 2015 will find Setheist recording their first LP album as most of the material is already prepared.
First musical resonance from Slovak band has started already in year 2008. At very beginning of Anthology there was nobody else than the main representative – composer and guitarist – Majo “Mathias” Gonda with assistance of former member – bass guitarist Ján Kičin. There was no lack of young boldness and determination even in beginnings, with the only difference that Anthology was able to gradually contract into their ranks real player quality. Due to their age it abounded with the immense talent. First stable lineup of Anthology has signed to birth of demo “Exitus” and contained these names: Alexandra Hírešová – vocal, Majo “Mathias” Gonda – guitar, Miro “Morety” Grman – guitar, Ján Kičin – bass, Martin “Maarty” Solárik – keyboards and Peter “Pepo” Pleva – drums. Song “Exitus” already in that time pointed on clear facts: great melody, nicely sounding guitar lines, rhythmic accuracy but mostly it was big promise for future years. Sound was handled by Vladimír Povala. The ultimate in this piece “Exitus” was band’s participation in one of the biggest Slovak festivals – Terchovský Budzogáň, where Anthology played support for Czechoslovak fixed stars Olympic and Desmod. The band, with some kind of inertia, played local concerts, which was good but not enough to move forward. It needed to write material with more global importance. After extremely hard times and lot of personal turbulences between 2012 and 2013, where singer Alexandra has returned twice to band, she was replaced with charming Raylyn Shade in 2013. During this year Anthology wanted to bring lot of elements to their work through new album, which would help to stop Anthology being considered as young starting band. Project of emerging album “The Prophecy” directly established concept, which was based on specific strategy and that was determined by quality of single songs. Lineup to “The Prophecy” : Raylyn Shayde – vocal, Majo „Mathias“ Gonda – guitar, Miro „Morety“ Grman – guitar, Marek „Marc“ Štech – bass/ screamo, Martin „Maarty“ Solárik - keyboards a Peter „Pepo“ Pleva – drums. „The Prophecy” was considered as breakthrough album from the beginning. This piece welded single members together; production was handled by Vladimír Povala and mainly Michal Jankuliak (EagleHeart). Mix was undertaken by well-known Roland Grapow (ex-Helloween, MasterPlan). After unofficial release, publicity with global meaning has started to revolve around Anthology. “The Prophecy” scores partial achievements not only in local fan base but also in Japan, Denmark, Germany, Finland, Netherlands, Czech Republic and in countries of Latin America. Half year after release of this album, Anthology integrates into accepted musical ensembles in their home country in sympho-power metal genre with an ambition to succeed not only in Slovakia…
ESTATE was founded in Krasnodar, Russia in 2012 by a group of people with the same mission – a mission to play live and loud heavy metal in the vein of classic acts like Helloween, Scorpions, Van Halen, Whitesnake etc. It’s the guitar, the power, the riffs and especially the melody that makes these five Russians this unstoppable force of heavy metal. The members of ESTATE, is truly a unit with same religious beliefs, traditions, customs, notions of honor, valor, heroism, freedom and love. All of this is reflected in their music, which is best described as melodic power metal with influences from traditional folk music, 80’s pop music and the glam of the 70’s. The band is already a well-known live-act on the metal-scene in Russia and has shared stage with acts like Doro, Michael Schenker and Kipelov (ex-Aria). In the spring of 2014 the band completed recording their debut album “Fantasia”. The album is produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by the band themselves at “Estate studio”. The remarkable artwork is done by none other than Leo Hao, who is well known for working with bands like Blind Guardian, Rage, Iced Earth, Magic Kingdom and Aria. «Fantasia» was released on 1. December via Mighty Music / Target.
What do you get when five young and talented musicians combine the complexity and melody of Scandinavion trash/death with the brutal force of American metalcore? Ethereal is about one thing and one thing only: creating overwhelming, jaw-dropping music which guarantees a good-old ache in the neck tomorrow morning. While the bands’ five musicians can show skills that put them in the Premier League of the Dutch metal scene, they are not afraid to mix solid songwriting with a decent dose of showmanship. Thus, guitarist Michiel Quakernaat and synth virtuoso Uri Dijk (who won the “Best Musician” award at the 2010 Grote Prijs van Nederland) will give you dual solos rarely seen in the metal genre. There will be sticktricks, and a bassplayer who loves running around stages as fast as possible. You will get frontman Daniel Verbrugge, officially ranked top-three Dutch grunter of 2009, and drummer Eelco van der Meer, who’s vast experience makes him the perfect and impressive motor for the band. Moreover, you will get movement, passion, surprises, massive energy, moshpits. You will get everything you hope for when visiting a metal show.
Ethereal, formed by Michiel Quakernaat and Uri Dijk in 2005, got into serious business upon releasing their 2008 “Prologue” ep. Early 2009, the band added bassplayer Bjorn van der Ploeg (Trip Trigger) and drummer Eelco van der Meer (Last Breath Denied, Cirrha Niva) to its line-up. It proved an excellent move: after performing for the first time in June 2009, Ethereal went through an extremely successful season. The quintet played over 40 shows throughout The Netherlands, including major festivals such as Bevrijdingspop (Haarlem) and Werfpop (Leiden). Out of nowhere, the band won the prestigious Rob Acda Award, as single loudest band ever. In Deptember 2010, Ethereal performed an astonishing show at the Melkweg in Amsterdam, and took home the Grote Prijs van Nederland, by far Holland’s largest band competition. After releasing their second ep “Lunacy Falls” in January 2011, Ethereal will continue to conquer the Dutch metal scene. This is the start of something that is about to get a lot bigger. So, what do you get when combining Lamb of God’s astonishingly raw energy with the melodic powerplay of, let’s say, Children of Bodom? You will experience a band who’s classical and prog influences are as present and impressive as are their brutal and epic riffs. A band who’s live performances are unlevelled. A band, most of all, which will satisfy the needs of every person who loves loud music. This is ETHEREAL.
Atmospheric/Melodic Black Metal from Cyprus. Formed in 2007 in Nicosia, Cyprus and influenced by the status of society and people’s own personal struggle, STORMCAST sought to write music to express them and create something that defines them. Following a 4-track promo in 2009 and a 3-track promo in 2012 the band’s debut album is now ready to be unleashed! The band has extensive live experience, having performed at MetalDays Festival and having supported acts such as Rotting Christ, Sabaton, Stratovarius and Nightstalker among others. Through writing and experimenting with its own material, the band slowly found its style of music; that of atmospheric black metal. Blending touches of symphonic metal as well as gothic and melodic death metal and a subtle dose of doom, STORMCAST have created a unique style and sound that they can truly call their own. The band members are passionate and determined and this is evident throughout their work. The band’s debut album, “Frame of Mind”, is set for release worldwide on December 8th on CD and digital.
Created in the late 2012, Veonity is a power metal band hailing from Sweden. Back then the band consisted of Sköld, Samweli, Lidre and Dahlqvist, but after a long search for a vocalist De Silva joined the lineup, in the early spring of 2013, and the band became complete. Just a few weeks after the band's completion, Veonity headed into the studio in March 2013 to record their first Demo/Ep "Live Forever", which was finished in the end of summer/early autumn the same year.
Witchbreed was created by the hands of Ares (bass) and Ricardo Dikk (guitar). Later joined by Ruby Roque as vocalist, the first and primal band formation was completed. Soon after Witchbreed released “Descending Fires”, a demo-ep containing four songs that become a very rare and sought-after item for underground collectors all over the world. With the increasing demand for live shows Witchbreed added Filipe Sousa (guitar) and Tiago "Hollow" Lopes (drums) and became ready to present a complete live show of seductive and fierce aggressiveness. The following year was spent playing live in clubs all over the country and as an opening act for bands like Samael in some of the biggest summer fests in Portugal. Witchbreed's live show took critics and audiences by surprise due to their dark energy and furious performance. Such performances have established Witchbreed as a genuine and unexpected groundbreaking band in the current Metal scene. “Heretic Rapture” Debut Album Soon after, the band hit the studio again to record two songs: Rebel Blood and Brotherhood of Fang & Claw. Released as a streaming promo only it took just a couple of hours until Ascendance Records came into play and was impressed enough to offer the band a record deal. With the support of Ascendance the band was officially committed to recording their debut album “Heretic Rapture” which was produced by Waldemar Sorychta (Moonspell, Tiamat, Samael, Lacuna Coil...) assisting and improving the already inspiring writing process. “Heretic Rapture” is one of the heaviest and darkest Metal records ever recorded with female vocals revealing a musical dimension of blackened guitar riffs and progressive song structures, underlined by subtle, cinematic keyboards and dramatic, haunting vocals. The combination of fiercely aggressive song verses with memorable epic choruses make the musical journey through “Heretic Rapture” a mesmerizing experience focusing on the dilemmas of existence and the mysteries of human behavior. Lyric wise “Heretic Rapture” is a solitary scream against the hypocrisy of disbelief and evokes the spirit of resistance in a world now devoid of sense. “In Memoriam Nocturnus” Original Soundtrack
After an intense domestic touring schedule promoting “Heretic Rapture” Ruby took a break while expecting her newborn child. During that period Witchbreed was invited to record the official Original Soundtrack for a special vampire novel book, short film and graphic novel project named “Nocturnus: Redemption” published by one of the biggest Portuguese Book Labels: Editorial Presença. Released under the name “In Memoriam Nocturnus” this Deluxe Special Edition counted with Sandrine Orsini as a guest vocalist and the special guest participation of Portugal’s most recognized Metal radio DJ Antonio Freitas. “Queen of Storms” Mini-Album Returning to their original three band piece formation and signing a two album deal with Whispering Voice Records from Norway thus resulted in what will be their most ambitious project so far. “Queen of Storms” is the first Whispering Voice Records release, this classic mini-album is comprised of unreleased and re-worked songs from the Ruby Roque (vox) period and definitely closes a chapter in Witchbreed’s career setting the tone for the future. “Armageddon” Sophomore Album “Armageddon” is Witchbreed’s effective sophomore album and was created out of the blood and ashes of Ares & Ricardo Dikk. . A more extreme and aggressive path is now being thrilled revealing the darkest and heavier roots of Ares & Ricardo Dikk. A new thematic direction and lyrical content mixing both occult-misanthropic content with a transcendental “out of earth” concern is the new perspective for both composers. Leaving this earth and focusing on what lies beyond as the origin and ultimately the demise of human nature gave Witchbreed a new exciting source of inspiration for faster, darker and heavier riffs becoming the new musical approach the band was craving for.
The first name of the band was FUNESTUM, and it was started in Kyiv in 2008, being first to introduce Atmospheric Funeral Doom in Ukraine. Under this name band has taken part in a number of shows sharing stage with Cemetery of Scream, Inferno and Apostate, and releasing an EP «The Gates of Eon» (Врата Вечности) which is available online. In 2009 band has changed its name to NARROW HOUSE continuing its Funeral Doom legacy and taking part in multiple Ukrainian doom fests, playing with Skepticism, Mournful Gust, Stoned Jesus and Mozergush. All live performances by NARROW HOUSE were supported with psychological visuals and ambient music which merges all songs in one solid and depressive structure. After a short hiatus NARROW HOUSE started to record their debut album «A Key to Panngrieb» which has been released in August 2012 by one of the biggest doom metal labels in the world — Solitude Productions (Russia). This album was well received by the audience, making it an extremely promising start for NARROW HOUSE. In 2013 the band has entered the studio again, taking a new musical direction, combining various doom metal subgenres into completely unpredictable mix called «apocalyptic doom metal». To record its new album «Thanathonaut», NARROW HOUSE is collaborating with famous Morton Studio, led by the respected Ukrainian sound-producer Max Morton. It has been released in May 2014 by Bad Mood Man Music label marking a new era for the band.
