SOLAMNIA

As drummer of the great epic band Enthring, Mika Lumijärvi started to compose his own material in spring 2010. The composing was slow and random because he wanted primarily to focus on Enthring,s music. Mika wanted to combine his favorite genres (folk-, death- and power metal as well as Hollywood epic soundtrack and game music) in his music somehow. The first demo "Tales" was finished in summer 2011 under the name Knight of Snowlake. Enthring's guitarists Tommi and Petteri helped Mika a great deal in making this first dream come true.

Mika continued composing in fall 2011 and the material for "Those of Honor " began to born. At the same time Enthring began to be noticed internationally and Mika focused primarily to that band. 

Family reasons and moving to another town unfortunately made Mika resign from the great band Enthring in spring 2012. In thirst of a new band he immediately started seeking members to play the music of Knight of Snowlake. The interest was surprisingly good considering the fact that mika knew nobody in the new town and had only few demo songs as reference. Many people came to the rehearsals but it turned out to be quite a difficult task to find talented as well as dedicated players. Slowly the pieces have been put together and now Mika is surrounded by three amazing musicians Ilkka, Veronika and - surprise surprise - Tommi from Enthring! The hunt for a bass player still continues.

In addition to building the band Mika practiced like hell in order to manage new recordings as the thought of making the first EP was already there. In april 2013 the drum recordings with Saku Moilanen from the Deep Noise Studios finally began as well as other work for the new record. This was a long process and had probably all the delays and setbacks one can imagine. 14 people were somehow involved in making "Those of Honor". It was Veronika who came up with the better band name Solamnia and also designed the band logo.The EP was finally ready in November and had taken two years of hard but fun work. "Those of Honor" was released in January 24th 2014 on the Internet (Spotify, iTunes, Amazon etc.)
